Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo met with Janet Ramos, licensee, for an unannounced Case Management inspection. Licensee has applied for an increase of capacity on her license. Licensee's home has been granted a Fire Inspection by the City Of Salinas Fire Department previous to this inspection, Present was licensee's helpers Maria Nava and Lorena Coyt. Licensee children ages 11, 9, and 6 years old. LPA observed there were 4 preschool children present today.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today’s inspection. LPA observed that the home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of the children. LPA observed a barricaded fireplace in the home. LPA observed safe and sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher last time serviced on 6/28/23. LPA observed a working smoke detector and a working carbon monoxide detector. LPA observed that part of the back yard is fenced and locked. Off limits outdoor: Right and left side yards and far back of the backyard. LPA observed two pet dogs out of the home. Licensee will use the converted garage for the children in care. Converted garage has been approved by Salinas Fire Department on inspection signed and dated on 3/13/24.

Licensee was informed that if eventually a large license is granted, the maximum capacity is 14 and a qualified helper is required to be present whenever there are more than 8 children in care and ratio (age of the children) must be observed. Licensee understands that in absence of a qualified helper, her license capacity automatically returns to capacity 8 and ratio must be observed as well. Graphical material showing ratio for a large FCCH license was provided to the licensee.

No deficiencies were cited today.
