25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo and Martha Jimenez-Villanueva conducted an unannounced case management inspection to the home today with the purpose of reactivating the Family Child Care Home (FCCH) license. LPAs met with Gabriela Puentes, Licensee. LPAs observed there were no children in care. License has been inactive since 5/15/23. Licensee will provide supervision to children Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Licensee’s certifications for CPR and First Aid card is current and will expire on 8/20/24. LPAs toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection.
The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPAs observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. Off limit areas inside are: All second floor with 4 bedrooms, and two bathrooms, one bedroom in the first floor, and the attached garage. LPA observed there are barricaded stairs and a barricaded fireplace in the home. The off-limits areas outside the home are: A storage shed in the back yard, and the right side yard. LPA did not observe any wall heaters. LPA observed the home has a backyard and it is fenced. The licensee uses the back yard as playground when the weather allows it. LPA observed Licensee has one small dog in the off limits areas. Licensee stated the dog is vaccinated.
LPAs observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher that was last serviced on 1/10/23, working smoke detectors. LPA observed the home has at least one working carbon monoxide detector. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. The licensee has in the file proof of having immunization for influenza, measles, and pertussis according with the SB792. LPA observed the home has central AC/Heating. LPA observed the home does not have any bodies of water. LPA observed licensee has renewed the Mandated Reporter training on 1/07/24
The licensee was informed that her FCCH license will be reactivated after submitting proof of a fire extinguisher had received service within a year as it was conditioned by the Salinas Fire Department
No deficiencies were cited today.
A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED, POSTED NEAR THE FRONT ENTRANCE TO THE HOME, AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 CONSECUTIVE DAYS. |
