25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo conducted an unannounced annual required inspection to the home today. LPA met with Maribel Merlos, Licensee, and explained the nature of today's inspection to her. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The adults that reside in the home are the licensee, her spouse Rodolfo and her adults children Ricardo, Roberto, and Rodrigo. LPA observed there were three children in care, included two infants and one preschooler. Certification for CPR and First Aid Card for Licensee is current and will expire on 2/22/26 for licensee and her helper Maria F.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. LPA took a picture of the children's roster today and it is current. LPA reviewed five children files and observed files are complete. LPA observed that Licensee has documented the last fire drill on 8/2/24.
The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. Off limit areas inside are: three bedrooms, one bathroom and the attached garage. Off limits areas outside: left side yard and the left part of the back yard. The home has a back yard and it is fenced. Licensee uses it as playground.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher that was last serviced on 4/4/24, and at least one working smoke/carbon monoxide detector. LPA observed there are not stairs in the home. Licensee keeps two dogs in the left side yard of the home, and licensee has vaccination records for them. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children.
According with the SB792, Licensee has proof of immunization for herself and for her helpers for pertussis, measles, and influenza.
Supervision of children was discussed with the Licensee and she understands that she must be present in the home during day care hours and ensure that the children are supervised at all times.
