32 | LPA observed the interior of the facility to be clean, safe, and well maintained. The flooring was in good condition and free of observable tripping or slipping hazards. Toy storage containers had smooth edges, adequate ventilation, and lids designed to prevent finger entrapment. LPA observed that first-aid supplies were readily accessible to staff and maintained out of the reach of children.
LPA observed that each child had a designated, clearly labeled space for storing personal belongings. LPA observed that each child had an individual cot labeled with the child's name. LPA observed that each child's sheets, bedding, and blankets were stored separately in individual bags to prevent cross-contamination. The Director stated that bedding and related materials are laundered by parents on a weekly basis or more frequently, as needed.
This facility does not provide regular meals or snacks. Each child is expected to bring two snacks, a packed lunch, and a personal water bottle each day. Families are responsible for ensuring that all food meets their child’s dietary needs and is appropriately packed. A filtered water system is available in the kitchen, and teachers will refill water bottles as needed to keep children hydrated. While daily food and drink must be brought from home, the preschool maintains a supply of snacks and water, which may be provided if a child needs additional nourishment during the day.
Bathroom facilities met the required ratio of one sink and toilet per 15 children. Toileting areas, including sinks, dispensers, walls, and floors, were routinely disinfected. The designated sink for rinsing soiled items was sanitized after each use. Trash was kept in covered containers, and the indoor temperature was maintained at 68°F.
LPA Barnes reviewed five children's files. All files were complete. The facility roster and children's manual sign-in/sign-out records were reviewed which included signatures and date.
LPA Barnes reviewed five staff files. All files were complete. Director was reminded that Mandated Reporter Training must be renewed every two years and that at least one staff member with current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification must always be present. LPA Barnes also reminded Director that aides and assistants must remain under the direct supervision of a qualified teacher, except during naptime or when children are using the restroom. -----CONTINUED NEXT PAGE -----
