25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Larios met with , Licensee Socorro Martin, for an unannounced required inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Assistant Dawn. LPA observed six children in the home during today's inspection. Licensee was operating within her capacity and ratio requirements. Licensee states that she current cares for children ages 0 to 5 years old years old. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the front entrance to the home. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The adults residing in the home are: Licensee and Licensee's spouse. There are no minor children residing in the home.
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on March 21, 2024. Licensee states that she has liability insurance through Acord Insurance. LPA observed a current policy verifying valid coverage. Licensee & assistant have current CPR and First Aid certifications that (expiration: May 2026). Licensee has the required vaccines (MMR, Tdap, & flu - opt out) and is current with her Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers (expiration: March 26, 2026). LPA reviewed six children's files and the files were complete with the required forms. LPA reviewed one staff file (Assistant) and the file was incomplete with the required immunization, and certifications. Licensee states that a child will be isolated in the living room area if necessary due to illness or communicable disease.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home. The home is clean, orderly, (including central heating/ventilation), and safe for the day care children. There are age appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the children in the home. LPA observed stairs inside the home were not barricaded due to it being broken. Off limit areas in the home: the entire second floor (master bedroom/bathroom, three bedroom & one bathroom) one barricaded fireplace (located in the living room ), laundry room, and garage. Off limit areas outside the home: Built in BBQ, all storage sheds, both side yards (left & right) and all grass area in the back yard.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, no bodies of water, and fenced backyard. The Licensee states there is weapons/ammunition in the home. LPA observed ammunition stored and locked separately from firearms. The Licensee has one dog that is full vaccinated in the home. LPA reminded the Licensee to keep the dog food and water inaccessible to the day care children. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. All poisons are inaccessible to children and stored in the locked garage. |
