25 | On January 9, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Darnella Barnes conducted an unannounced annual inspection of the child care facility. LPA explained the purpose of the visit to Licensee Nadia Safi who granted access and received the Entrance Checklist (LIC 126).
At the visit were Licensee, staff Masooda Sahak and 3 children. The facility operated Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 5:30pm. There were missing required postings ,therefore a Citation B is on attached LIC809D. Records showed the last fire and disaster drill took place on 12/7/25 LPA reminded the licensee of the six-month drill requirement and the need for proper documentation.
LPA reviewed capacity and ratio rules, supervision requirements, mandated reporter duties, and the non-waivable rights of children.
LPA toured the home. Off-limits areas included downstairs closet, attached garage and all of upstairs,(gate at bottom of stairway) The home was clean, well-ventilated, and furnished with safe, age-appropriate toys and equipment. A fully charged 3A-40B-C fire extinguisher was available. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found to be working. A functioning telephone was also present.
Hazardous items, including cleaning supplies, detergents, medications, and poisons, were stored out of children’s reach. No dangerous conditions were observed. The licensee stated there were no firearms in the home, and smoking was prohibited.
