25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joe Macias conducted an unannounced Case Management/ Increase of Capacity Inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entrance by the Licensees Karoleen Bebawy & Evalen Bebawi. The Licensees recently submitted an application for an increase of capacity. The Licensees are currently licensed to provide care for up to 8 children, and wishes to obtain a large license to provide care for up to 14 children. The purpose of today’s inspection is to ensure the home is in compliance with Title 22 California Code of Regulations. Prior to today's inspection LPA Macias received an approved fire clearance from Monterey County Regional Fire District. Todays census is 5 (3 infant, 2 preschool age). The Licensees and adult sons/ brothers Mina Bebawi, and Beshoy Bebawi are the only adult who reside in the home. Also present today was the Licensee Evalen Bebawi's husband Atta Soliman who was visiting and does not reside at the address. The day care hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7am - 5:30pm. The Licensee's CPR and First Aid are current, and expire March 2025.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's visit. LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's visit. The last fire disaster drill was conducted on August 1, 2023. LPA Macias reviewed the children files and observed all required documents present. The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the children in care. The home is orderly, and safe for the day care children. LPA did not observe a wall heater in the home (central heat). LPA observed a securely barricaded/ gated stair case in the home. Off limit areas of the home: entire second floor, and garage.
LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and no bodies of water. The Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, poisons, medications, and other similar items are out of reach and inaccessible to children. Licensee states that she does not administer medications at this time.
