25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha Jimenez-Villanueva made an unannounced Case Management Inspection in response to a request to increase the capacity. LPA met with Licensee, Sisy Arano Uscanga and explained to her the purpose of today's visit. Licensee was alone with no children in care. However, Licensee was with your own children in the home. Licensee stated visited Emergency Room because her child six year old was sick in the early morning. Adults living in the home are herself and her husband. Licensee stated her six year old daughter and her eleven years old residing in the home. The home is a single story home located in a mobile home park with three (3) bedrooms and two (2) bathrooms. Fire clearance was granted on November 15, 2024, by City of Salinas Fire Prevention.
Licensee stated that the day-care is open Monday – Friday from 6:00AM to 5:30PM. Licensee understands that the children cannot stay in the home for more than 24 continue hours. Licensee have completed the Preventative Health and Safety Training including Nutrition and Lead Poisoning Prevention and a copy of the certification is on file. Licensee's CPR and First Aid certifications are current and expire on July, 2026. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training was completed on March 26, 2024. LPA reminded licensee that Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Providers shall be renewed by all staff every two years from completion date.
Licensee was informed that if eventually a large license is granted, the maximum capacity is 14 and a qualified helper is required to be present whenever there are more than 8 children in care and ratio (age of the children) must be observed. Licensee understands that in absence of a qualified helper, her license capacity automatically returns to capacity 8 and ratio must be observed as well. Graphical material showing ratio for a large FCCH license was provided to the licensee.
LPA inspected the indoor and outdoor areas of the home. LPA observed a fully 3A40BC fire extinguisher that was serviced on 11/05/2024, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, no stairs, no bodies of water and no wall heater in the home. Off limits areas are: master bedroom 1 with bathroom, bedroom 2, bedroom 3 and hallway washroom inside and outside right side carport area, right side wood storage shed and rear back yard. On limits for day-care: Living room, kitchen/dinning room and hallway bathroom inside and outside. left side play area. The outside play area is gated. The backyard is fenced.
