The home was toured. Off-limits areas included 4 bedrooms, master bathroom and attached garage. The home was clean, ventilated, and furnished with toys and equipment. A 2A-10-BC fire extinguisher was available. A functioning telephone was present. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were tested and working. LPA observed covered wall heater in hallway.

Outdoor areas were inspected. Off-limit areas include the shed and all areas outside of the desk. The backyard was enclosed with a five-foot fence. LPA reminded the licensee to notify Licensing before making changes to the home or yard.

Five children’s files were reviewed and found to be complete. The licensee was reminded that, if she transported children, she was required to have a valid driver’s license. Children were not to be left unattended in vehicles. Car seats were used only for transportation, and booster seats and car seats were required during transport.
If liability insurance was not maintained or if the day care was not named on the policy, each child’s file was required to include a signed Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance (LIC 282).
