32 | During today’s visit, there were no children in care. The front gate was latched with a sign reminding parents, staff and visitors to close and latch the gate upon arriving and leaving the facility. All doors in the classrooms had alarms on them and were in working order. There is an alarm on the main classroom door at the front of the classroom and the back door that leads out to the play yard. The classroom had a baby gate located by the main door next to the cubbies.
D1 and D2 both stated someone from the administration team are overseeing staff and making sure staff are supported and maintaining supervision with the children while in care. LPA observed all classrooms have a white board both inside and outside with the children’s names. D1 and D2 stated teachers use this board to mark the children who are present or have left for the day. Teachers do headcounts when going out to the play yard, when entering the classroom and throughout the day, at circle time and when the children are sitting at the table eating.
D1 and D2 both state the site continues to have monthly staff meetings to discuss topics related to supervision, staffing ratios, and the importance of head counts. The next staff meeting will be held on 03/19/2025. The facility has completed all training's with CCLD’s Technical Support Program (TSP). Based on today's visit, the facility appeared to be complying with the terms of the NCC.
