25 | At 2:00pm on 5/16/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Gallo met with facility representative Joy Horsfall for a licensee initiated case management visit. The purpose of today's visit is to inspect a proposed room change for the preschool. Today's census included 0 children in care.
The preschool is currently located in the "Aspen" building on the property, and the licensee intends to move the preschool to a room in the nearby "Birch" building. During today's inspection, LPA measured the inside activity space in the proposed room, which at 551 square feet was found to be sufficient to maintain the current licensed capacity of 12 children. There is a faucet in the room that will provide water for drinking, and LPA observed a separate bathroom with a functioning toilet and sink. A fire clearance inspection was completed on 5/15/2024. The outdoor activity space will remain the same.
During the inspection of the proposed classroom, LPA observed a floor-level furnace with a metal grill situated against the wall. LPA touched the metal grill while the furnace was on and felt it to be hot enough to be a hazard to persons in care. The furnace will need to be made inaccessible prior to an approved room change.
Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with facility representative Joy Horsfall. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights provided. |
