25 | At approximately 12:40pm on 9/26/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Gallo met with Licensee Giovanna Molina for the purpose of an unannounced required 1-year inspection. No children were present during today's inspection.
The facility's hours of operation are: Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 4:00pm, year round.
Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility, and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off limits areas include: garage, half bathroom, sunroom, master bedroom, deck, and office. The Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe bodies of water at the facility. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Stairs are properly barricaded to prevent access to children. Outdoor play space is partially fenced, and licensee understands that 100% supervision is required in unfenced areas.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA reviewed 6 children’s files and observed them to be complete. A current roster is being maintained and fire and disaster drills are documented. Current CPR and First Aid certification was verified and expires 12/2023, and AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training was verified for the Licensee and expires 6/2025.
Licensee stated she places infant children on their backs when they are napping. LPA discussed infant sleep plan (LIC 9227) requirement with Licensee, and 15-minute observation checks of napping infants.
