Indoor activity areas were observed to be clean, safe, and well maintained. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other potentially hazardous items were stored out of children’s reach. No poisons or hazardous materials were stored on the premises. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and were observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. Food is prepared on site; facility provides a super snack to children in care. Menus were posted where they could be reviewed by parents. There is drinking water available to children indoors by means of a water jug and cups. Children bring sports bottles/cups with their name on them that can be refilled as needed with water. The children's bathrooms are clean and sanitary; children do not nap this facility is an after school program.
The facility conducted an emergency drill within the past six months, with the most recent fire drill documented on 08/26/2026. A working carbon monoxide detector and operable fire extinguisher were present. All required postings were observed, including the California Child Passenger Safety Law at the entrance. LPA reviewed LIC 125 with the director, covering required child records, personnel records, administrative records, and mandatory postings. The facility grounds were safe, sanitary, and well maintained on this date.
4 (four) staff files were reviewed. Required health screenings and immunizations were present. As required by H&S Code 1597.622, staff must be immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of pertussis and measles immunization was observed and found to be compliant. At least one staff member present possessed a current EMSA-approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification, expiring 09/30/2027. As required by H&S Code 1596.8662, all directors and employees must complete mandated reporter training every two years. All 4 (four) staff files reviewed were in compliance.
5 (five) children’s files were reviewed and found to be complete, current, and compliant.
