Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of decreasing the capacity from 122 children to 108 preschool children in classrooms # 1, 2, 3, 7, and 8. LPA met with Director, Kelsey Stevens. LPA was given a tour of the facility by the Director. Currently the facility is licensed for 122 preschool children ages 2 to 6 years old in classrooms # 1, 2, 3, 7, and 8. LPA observed there were a total of two staff with 23 preschool children with 3 staff in classroom # 3 and outside.
The facility representative, Kelsey Stevens was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The facility has requested to provide care and supervision to 108 preschool children ages 2 to 6 years old, Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and one Friday per month extended to 10:00 pm. The children are dropped off, signed in and out electronically. They entered the facility through the entrance of the building leading to rooms. The facility has met all the posting requirements.
The indoor activity space measurement for the current requested capacity is as follows:
Classroom # 1 is: 905.41 square feet.
Classroom # 2 is: 768.33 square feet.
Classroom # 3 is: 685.61 square feet
Classroom # 7 is: 468.99 square feet
