LIcensing Program Analyst(LPA) P Rivas met with Angelisa Cortes site Supervisor for a case management visit for a decrease in capacity from 68 children to 48 children by removing room 101. LPA was later met by Veronica Berber Aceves, Early Learning Specialist (ELS) The facility is located on the Kennedy Elementary School grounds.
The facility is operating from 8.00 am to 4.00 PM, Monday to Friday serving children ages 2-5 years old.
Facility shall offer a full day program in Room 103 from 8.00 am - 4.00 PM. Children attending Full day session shall be served Breakfast/ Lunch and a PM snack and napping shall be offered. All napping items are provided by the facility and the linens/blankets are taken home for wash on a weekly basis.

Two half day sessions are offered in Room # 102, AM session 8-11 am where Breakfast shall be served and PM session 12.00 to 3.00 PM :lunch shall be served. There will be no napping in the half day session.

A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This is a Title V school and fingerprint clearances are done through the school district.
LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. No smoking is allowed. LPA informed Ms. Berber-Aceves that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.

The indoor space was measured at 1761.8336 square feet in rooms 102 and 103 which is sufficient for the requested capacity. Age appropriate furniture and activities including Educational / Arts & Crafts items were viewed Room is well ventilated with proper lighting and shade. There is a working Smoke detector / Carbon .

Monoxide detectors and Fire Extinguisher. Children shall nap on the cots, linens and blankets are provided by the facility in the full day program. Parent drop off - pick up: Designated gate next to the main office. Electronic sign in using a specific Pin number and manual sign in also available
Room 102 has 2 sinks, Room 103 has 1 sink which is sufficient for the capacity requested.
There are 2 toilets in the preschool bathroom which is insufficient for the capacity requested.
The facility also uses the girls bathroom and it has 4 toilets designated for pre school use. A waiver will be requested for pre school to be able to use school's bathrooms. Fire clearance was granted on 03/14/24.

Playground is completely enclosed by chain link fencing at least 4 feet high. Outdoor activity area is supplied with age and size appropriate equipment. Adequate shade is provided by canopies. There is rubber padding and one area has artificial grass padding is 1 inch thick. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There are climbing structures on the playground which are properly anchored The play yard shall be shared with the Kindergarten and Special Education program children. A waiver will be requested. The outside activity space measured at 5523.82 square feet which is sufficient for requested capacity.
Ms. Berber-Aceves was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).

This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
