All five interviewed staffs, shared that there were 3 air conditioning thermostats in the facility, one in Green classroom, one in Red classroom and one in the hall way. All interviewed staff stated the temperature thermostats are always set between 72 and 75 degrees F. Only the teachers in the Green room, Red Room and the Administrator staff are the ones that usually set the temperature. All five interviewed staffs, in all different classrooms, denied that they ever felt that it was too cold or too hot in the classrooms and have never heard any children, staff or parents shared any concerns about the temperature in the facility.
LPA Tran attempted to interviewed 5 children, 2 out of five children were qualified to be interviewed, and the two children who were interviewed, denied ever felt too hot or too cold when they are in the classrooms. They also denied that they ever witnessed anyone in class saying that it was too hot or too cold in the classrooms.
During today's investigation, LPA Tran also observed the thermostat in the Green classroom was set at 74 degrees F, the thermostat temperature in the hall way was set at 72 degree F and thermostat temperature in the Red classroom was set at 73 degrees F.
Based on LPA's observation and the interviews conducted with 5 staffs and 2 children, there is insufficient evidence to corroborate the allegation that a comfortable temperature is not being maintained at the facility. Although the allegation, may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that a comfortable temperature is not being maintained at the facility, did or did not occur, therefore the allegation that a comfortable temperature is not being maintained at the facility is unsubstantiated.
Appeal Rights were discussed. The facility representative was provided a copy of their appeal rights (LIC 9058) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. All appeals must be in writing and received by the Regional Office within 15 business days. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Lacy Bonner.
