On June 17, 2024 at 8:55, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), P Rivas and A Castro conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in in capacity to 235. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant/Facility Representative, Mariana Bosch Early Learning Specialist. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 235 preschoolers ages ages 2. 9 years old to 5 year olds in classrooms RM2, POD2, RM6, RM 7, POD6, RM 9, RM 11, POD7,RM 13, RM 14, POD 2A, RM 15, RM 17, POD 17, RM19, POD 19. Hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 8:00am to 2:45 pm. AM Session 8:00am to 11:00am and PM Session 11:45AM to 2:45 PM. Present during today’s inspection were no children with no staff. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Ms. Bosch that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities and to ensure all exits are secured.

LPA continued to tour the facility and measured indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured at 11,155.56 square feet , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 235 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies,

bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via faucets, sinks, and jug of water or they bring their own water. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 09/11/23, with special condition. "Approve room 2 for 12 room #19 approved for 23 = total at 35 POD is not 850 request. " Fire clearance granted an additional 35 children. However, applicant would like to include POD a new 850 will be sent with corrected room numbers and pods.

LPA observed a total of 27 sinks and 23 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 235 children.



The facility currently has 6 fully fenced playground areas. Fencing is chain link is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space which measured at 40950.41 , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There are climbing structures on the playgrounds which are properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by pour and play and one has wood chips. Drinking water is available via water jug school faucets or own children's water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Ms. Bosch was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).



The following corrections are needed prior to the issuance of the license:
1. An approved fire clearance that includes the POD

Applicant/Licensee Representative Ms. Bosch understands that all proof of corrections must be provided to the Department within 30 days, or the application may be denied.

Ms. Bosch was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.” However, facility is operated by Irvine School District and Operates under Title 5.

“This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. The facility has a nurse on premises, medications are kept in nurse's office. Isolation area will be nurses office which has bathroom. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
