25 | An inspection was conducted at the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Carmen Odom. A review of adult records indicates that all facility residents, staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. There are presently 2 adults living in the home. During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured, and the licensee was operating within the licensed capacity. There was 1 infant and 5 preschool age children in care. Assistant, Carolina Barajas (licensee's daughter) was present and assisting with day care children during LPA's inspection. Operating hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
This is a single story home with 4 bedroom and 2 bathrooms.The floor plan was verified. The childcare areas are the living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms through the right-side hallway and 1 bathroom through the left side hallway. Off limits areas are made inaccessible by means of doorknob covers. The 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and backyard are off limits. The licensee stated the children use the community park located 20 feet from the facility as the outdoor play area. The licensee stated the children are never left unsupervised and she maintains full supervision when at the community park. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were stored out of the reach of children. The licensee stated poisonous items are not stored on site, and none were observed during today's inspection. The home provides safe toys, equipment, and materials. There is a working carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, and fire extinguisher in the home that meet statutory and State Fire Marshall standards. The facility has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months, 8/16/21. The licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home, and none were observed during today's visit. LPA verified there is a working telephone service (land line) at the facility.
