Licensing Program Analyst LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted an announced In-person Case Management License initiated inspection for a change in the operation of this family childcare home. LPA met with Silenna Brown and her sister/assistant, Maria Morris who is a resident of this home. LPA was given a tour of the house. There were no children present.
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary indicates all adults, residing in the home who require caregiver background check clearances are cleared.
Licensee. Silenna Brown is requesting to have Maria Morris who lives in the home on the license due to her moving out. The operation hours will be Monday to Sunday, 5:00AM to 6:00AM. (23 hours) to children from birth to 13 years of age.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. This is a single-story home that consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 restrooms, family room,(Den) living room, kitchen, laundry room, Front yard, backyard and a garage. There is no stairway or fireplace in the home.
Maria Morris and Silenna Brown stated they are not currently registered with any Foster Care agency or holds a foster parent license, they were informed if any changes are to occur, Department shall be notified.
Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and heating. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in areas designated for children. The licensee states (that there are no poisons on the premises). Licensee was advised that any poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
