The home has age-appropriate toys for the ages served. LPA verified there is a working telephone service, which is the licensee’s landline. The Licensees stated they use the back yard for the children’s outdoor play area. There were no poisons or other items observed which could pose a danger to children. The Licensees stated there is the Community pool that is 100 meters away from the daycare. The Licensees stated the daycare children do not utilize the community pool. Additionally, there is a lake behind the facility, licensees stated it is about 15 meters from the facility. Licensees stated they do not take the children to the lake.
The licensee has a current roster of children in care. Five random Children’s records were reviewed for a copy of the emergency information card that contains all the information specified by regulation (LIC 700) and all forms were found to be in compliance. LPA observed 12 children in care. LPA reviewed LIC 9227 Individual Infant Sleeping Plan forms and the 15-minute Sleeping log for the two infants and were found to be in compliance. The licensees’ EMSA approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is current and expires on 04/07/2028 for both licensees.
Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family day care home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis, measles for licensees and assistant were reviewed and within compliance.
Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all licensed providers and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. Licensee, Astrid’s Mandated Reporter Training expires 04/08/2028 and licensee, Ricardo’s expires 05/27/2028.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Licensee stated she does not administer medication. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
