25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patricia Rivas conducted an annual inspection and was assisted by Licensee Ms. Vasquez.. Covid-19 Emergency Questionnaire were answered. LPA observed the facility is following CDC and Dept of Public Health Guidelines. The licensee was caring for 2 of her own children of whom 1 was under two years old..
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility residents, staff, or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Currently there are 2 adults including the licensee residing in the facility. Facility Day care hours are variable Monday through Sunday 5:00am -Midnight; Licensee will not care for any child under 1 year old overnight unless she has hired an assistant for day. During today’s inspection, LPA and licensee toured the inside and outside areas of the facility. Off limits areas are made inaccessible by means of locks and baby gate. The childcare area consists of the living room, family room, and two bedroom which are accessed through the front door. There is at least one working carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and fire extinguisher in the home that meet statutory and State Fire Marshall standards. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger were inaccessible.
The facility is a single-story apartment on the first floor with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, and patio. The entire home is designated for children in care. Both bathrooms are located inside each bedroom, one to the left and the other to the right. The kitchen is also accessible to the children. Each kitchen drawer had a cabinet slide lock placed on it. Child proof knob covers were also placed on each stove knob handle..
