Applicant has placed child proof safety gates at both entrances of the kitchen, ensuring they are inaccessible to the children in care. Applicant has also placed a child proof safety gate, in the hallway, leading to the off-limit bedrooms. The attached garage does not have a door connected house; therefore, it is inaccessible to children in care. The applicant acknowledged the children may never enter the off-limit areas, during operation hours. Control of property was verified by LPA during today’s inspection. The applicant will use a landline, which transfer call to cell phone, for the daycare. The applicant was informed if a cell phone is used for childcare, it must remain on the premises at all times during hours of operation. Applicant was informed and understands the home is to be free from smoking during hours of operation.
The facility does have a fireplace, located in the living room, which is barricaded with a cardboard and tape, and is deemed an improperly method of barricading this area. During today’s inspection, the kitchen area where cleaning solutions/chemicals, utensils, was made inaccessible by child proof safety gate. Sharp knives, were placed in a plastic container, located above the counter, ensuring these items were inaccessible to the children in care.
