25 | An Annual Random inspection was conducted at the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patricia Duron. LPA met with licensee and census was taken. There were 9 children which included 4 of infants and 5 preschool age children in day care area. Licensee was operating within the licensed capacity as specified on license.
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility residents, staff, or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Currently there are 2 adults including the licensee and 1 minor child living in the facility. Facility Day care hours are 6:30am-6:30pm, Monday through Friday.
During today’s inspection, LPA and licensee toured the inside and outside areas identified in the facility sketch as accessible to child care children. Off limits areas are made inaccessible by means of baby gates. Licensee has designated second level of the home (two bedrooms and two bathrooms) as off limits. Licensee has installed child safety gates on each end of the kitchen, and second safety gate in the passage area leading to the other side of the home as this area is off limits to the children in care. Stairway in the home is in the off limit area. Day care room has a fire place with a proper barrier in front, a wooden shelf in front blocking the fire place. Day care area consist of living room, next to kitchen. A small hallway going towards bedroom and attached bathroom. Outdoor play area consists of age appropriate toys and structures and artificial grass installed in outdoor play area. Right side yard is off limits with a safety gate installed.
There are working carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and fire extinguishers in the home that meet statutory and State Fire Marshall standards. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored inaccessible to children.
