During the investigation LPA interviewed licensee, interviewed parents, and took pictures inside and outside the family child care home.
Reporting Party (RP) stated “Home contains aggressive Pitbull’s, owner also does not pick up dog poop so there is poop around the house area/sidewalks.” On 9/26/2024, LPA interviewed licensee. At the time of the visit, licensee stated there were three dogs present, one Poodle, one Pit Bull, and a German Shepherd mixed. LPA observed all three dogs on the second level of the home which is off limits to day care children. LPA also observed a child safety gate placed at the bottom of the stairs making the second level inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated the dogs are not allowed in the on-limit areas designated for children in care. LPA toured inside/outside of the home on 9/26/2024 and on 10/9/2024. While visiting the family child care home on two separate occasions, LPA did not observe any dog feces inside or outside the home.
On 9/27/2024, LPA contacted six parents via phone call. Two parents were able to be interviewed. Parents interviewed did not divulge any information pertaining to the allegation.
Children were not interviewed due to age and being non-verbal.
Based on LPA observation, interviews with licensee and parents, there was not enough evidence to substantiate the allegation.
The Orange County Childcare Office has investigated the complaint alleging Provider does not keep facility free from dog feces: although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not enough preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 at the time of the visit.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with licensee Suba Uthayakumar.
Notice of Site Visit was provided to licensee and posted. The notice of site visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post will result in civil penalties of $100. The licensee was provided a copy of their appeal right (LIC 9058 1/16) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. |
