| Areas Designated for Day care activities: Parents and children will enter the home, through the main entrance door, leading to day care area. The licensee has designated bedroom # 1 and bedroom # 2, (These two rooms are connected by a sliding door to each other), living room, dining room for day care children. There is one full bathroom designated for children’s use.
The designated day care area is one room which is attached to bedroom # 2 for playing, napping & reading, and day care activities. The children eat in the dining room area. These 2 rooms were observed to have age appropriate activities and educational items for enrolled children. There are 3 play yards for the use of children under 2 years of age and cots for preschool children. Bedding is provided by the licensee. Licensee shall provide ongoing supervision during nap time.
There is a child safety gate installed at the beginning of the kitchen entrance making the kitchen inaccessible to children.
The garage is attached and is next to the bedrooms and has a lock and child proof door knob on it. The garage is in off limit area and is inaccessible to children.
During the inspection, LPA observed the designated off-limits areas were closed and locked.
The licensee will use the cell phone for day care and licensee was informed if a cell phone is used for child care, it must remain on the premises at all times during hours of operation.
The full bathroom is located next to the designated room for children's use. There are cabinets under the sink with safety latches installed. The children's bathroom was observed to be safe and free of hazardous items.
Licensee provides AM/PM snacks and lunch to children. If food is brought from home and these containers shall be labelled with their names by the parents and stored accordingly.
The licensee stated there are no firearms, or weapons in the facility.
The value on the 2A10 BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged, as indicated on service tag observed. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable.
