32 | During today’s inspection, LPA did not observe detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored inaccessible to children. Poisons and Hazardous items were not observed. There are no bodies of water
The toys are age appropriate and in good condition for the potential ages served. Baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and similar items will not be used for children in care. Licensee stated there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. When firearms are present, they must be locked and stored separately from the ammunition.
During today's inspection, the smoke detector and carbon monoxide were operable, and the fire extinguisher was charged. Facility’s fire/disaster drill is up to date. Last emergency drill was conducted on 1/29/24.
Outdoor play activities will be conducted in the backyard, which is appropriately fenced. LPA observed play equipment to be safe and free of hazards.
Per licensee, she provides breakfast, lunch, and A.M. and P.M. snacks for the children. Licensee was reminded if parents bring meals from home, children’s food must be labeled with child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated.
Per licensee, children nap in play yards and mats in the living room. Licensee stated she provides linen and blanket for the children and licensee washes linen and blankets at the end of every week.
Per licensee, she uses a changing table to change the infants. LPA reminded licensee, that while changing an infant’s diaper to visually observe the infant, to ensure the infant is safe. Infant files have complete Safe Sleep form (LIC 9227) and 15 min Sleep log were complete and in compliance.
Licensee’s Mandated Reporter certification expires on 10/30/24, assistant’s Mandated Reporter Expires 4/6/25. EMSA approved Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid were current for licensee and assistant, which expires on 10/29/24, assistant’s expires 8/12/25.
