32 | Based on the Facility Sketch submitted, areas off limits to children and parents are: Licensee has designated 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, portion of backyard, and laundry room, as the off-limit areas. Licensee has placed child proof safety knobs on the bedroom doors and the bathroom door, ensuring the areas are inaccessible to the children in care. Licensee has a lock on the laundry door. There is a gate separating the off-limit portion of the backyard. Licensee understands that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
Areas Designated for Day Care Activities: The licensee has designated the sunroom as the main day care area, bathroom #2 located in bedroom #3, kitchen, living room, dining room and part of the gated back yard as the day care areas. During today’s inspection, LPA observed detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored inaccessible to children. Poisons and Hazardous items were not observed. There is no fireplace and no bodies of water on the premises. The designated Child Care areas were observed to have age-appropriate toys and educational items. The toys are age appropriate and in good condition for the potential ages served. Baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and similar items will not be used for children in care. Licensee stated there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. When firearms are present, they must be locked and stored separately from the ammunition.
Fire/disaster drill has been conducted within 6 months. LPA observed detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored inaccessible to children. Poisons and Hazardous items were not observed.
Per the licensee, children and infants will nap in the designated main child care area (Sunroom). Children will nap on cots/mats and infants in cribs/play yards. The licensee understands that there shall be one crib or play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the crib or play yard. Licensee stated infants will be changed on a mat on the floor. LPA advised Licensee, when changing infants to always supervise the infants visually. Licensee stated parents will provide the linen for the children.
Per licensee, she stated parents will provide lunch and snacks for the children. The licensee was informed that if children bring food from home, the children’s names must be labeled on their lunch bags and refrigerated/stored properly.
