Based on the Facility Sketch submitted, areas off limits to children and parents are: Applicant has designated the entire 2nd floor (includes four bedrooms and one bathroom), kitchen, laundry area, as the off-limit areas. Applicant has a child proof safety gate, at the entrance of the kitchen and laundry area, ensuring these areas are inaccessible to the children in care.
Applicant understands that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
Areas Designated for Day care activities: Applicant has designated the living room, dining room, and 1.5 bathroom, as the day care areas.
The designated Child Care areas were observed to have age-appropriate toys and educational items.
Upon arrival applicant will receive the children at the front door, to gain access to the home.
Children will nap, in the living room and cots and play yards shall be used. Applicant stated parents will provide linen and blankets for the children. Per applicant, parents will provide diapers, lotion, wipes, and formula for the infants. Applicant stated she will use a changing table to change the infants. LPA advised applicant that while changing an infant’s diaper to visually observe the infant, to ensure the infant is safe.
Applicant stated she will provide the food for the children. Applicant was informed if children bring food from home to ensure the children’s name is on their lunch bag and refrigerated properly.
Per applicant, upon arrival children’s temperature will be taken, hands shall be sanitized, and the children shall be guided into the designated day care areas.
One of children’s bathroom is located, next to the kitchen, which is the off-limit area. LPA advised applicant to escort the children to this bathroom. The other children’s bathroom is located next to the entrance of home. LPA observed the bathrooms to be safe and free of hazardous items. Applicant has small tools for children in the bathrooms.
Per applicant, there are two large dogs in the home, which have been vaccinated.
THERE IS OUTDOOR PLAY AREA: Outdoor play activities will be conducted in a portion of the backyard, which is appropriately fenced. LPA observed a basement in the outdoor play area, which was locked with a key padlock. LPA advised applicant that basement shall be locked at all times during operation hours. LPA observed play equipment to be safe and free of hazards. There are no bodies of water on the premises.
