25 | On 01/28/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patricia Duron conducted a visit to follow up on the pre-licensing visit completed on 1/07/25. LPA informed applicants Daniel Olvera and Maria Quiroz Olvera that the purpose for today's inspection is to inspect swimming pool requirements 1596.814 Family day care home; in-ground swimming pool requirements. A facility personnel summary review shows that all adults in the home have criminal record and child abuse central index clearances or exemptions.
The LPA toured the facility assisted by the applicants. LPA observed 1596.814 Family daycare home in-ground swimming pool requirements and the requirements were met. The swimming pool is located in the backyard which is designated as childcare limit area. Applicants stated outdoor activities will be conducted in the backyard.
LPA observed the gate which enclosure that isolates the swimming pool from access to the family day care home. The mesh gate is approximately 60 inches in height with a self-closing and self-latching device. LPA confirmed and observed the pool gate is self-closing and self-latching. LPA observed no gaps or voids that can allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter equal to or greater than 4 inches and maximum vertical clearance of 2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure. LPA observed rescue pole with a fixed length of 12 feet and Life Ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard. LPA observed pool alarm which meet F2208 ASTM international standard requirements. Applicant agreed to perform daily inspection of the drowning prevention safety features and safety equipment before opening the facility. Licensee must maintain log to provide to department upon request.
In the event additional requirements are needed, the applicant will be notified. A license will be issued once all requirements are met. File will be submitted to management for final approval. Appeal rights were provided. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with applicants Daniel Olvera and Maria Olvera.
