Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced complaint inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Licensee. LPA observed a total of 12 children along with 2 staff members and the Licensee. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that not all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.

During the course of this inspection, LPA made observations, conducted interviews, and reviewed documents in regards to the above allegation. The complaint alleges that the facility does not include their facility license number in any of their advertisements. The Licensee stated she does have a page on social media and a website. When asked if the facility number is included in any part of the advertisement, the Licensee stated no. Licensee stated she was not aware that the facility number was required on advertisements.

During the inspection, LPA Lee advised the Licensee to refer to the CA title 22 regulations pertaining to Family Child Care Home regulations. Not including the facility number in any form of advertising is a potential risk to children in care.

Based on the fact that the Licensee admitted during an interview that she did not include the facility number in their two advertisements, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met. Therefore the allegation that Licensee does not reveal facility license number in advertisements is found to be substantiated.

Please see the attached 809D for further information.

The notice of site inspection must remain posted for a period of 30 days during hours of operation. Failure to maintain this posting requirement may result in a civil penalty of $100.00 dollars.
