On 6/3/2024 LPA interviewed the RP regarding details of the incident which resulted in the allegation.
On 6/4/2024, LPA made an unannounced visit to the facility and interviewed 8 staff. All staff interviewed stated according to licensing regulation, staff do not wake up children during nap time, even if they are asleep past the scheduled nap time. All staff shared that in the past, authorized representatives were able to submit written requests to the facility director to request for children to be woke up at a certain time. However, upon the facility learning that waking up children during their nap is against regulation, the facility has not done so. If any written requests to wake up children are received, it is communicated with the authorized representative that it is against licensing regulation. LPA collected sleep logs, parent handbook, and children’s roster for investigative review.
On 6/4/24, LPA could not interview children due to the children being in an infant program and not being verbal.
The Orange County Regional Child Care Licensing Office has investigated the complaint alleging facility staff woke up sleeping child: although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there was not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
No deficiencies cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Cynthia Moreno.
