In reference to the allegation that staff threatened C#1 with putting hot sauce in their mouth the investigation found; All teachers interviewed including director, denied threatening and or seeing any staff threaten children with putting hot sauce in their mouth. All parents interviewed advised their were no concerns with staff. Interviews with 7 qualified children did not divulge being threatened with putting hot sauce in their mouths.
Therefore, LPA was unable to corroborate the allegation.
In reference to the allegation that Staff excessively put day care child in time out the investigation found; All teachers interviewed denied putting children in any time out. Director stated time outs are not allowed; teachers are to re-direct children, separate if necessary but always with a some type of activity. All teachers reported use of re-direction for any issues, which includes replacing the activity. Interviews with parents indicated there were no issues or concerns. Interview with 2 of 7 children indicated time out was used. However, the two children who stated time- out is used could not state where time out was conducted. . LPA was unable to corroborate the allegation.
In reference to the allegation that Staff made inappropriate comments towards day care child saying parent needed to spank child. All staff interviewed denied making in appropriate comment of advising a parent to spank their child. All staff denied hearing any staff make an inappropriate comment of advising a parent to spank their child. All parents interviewed indicated there were no concerns or issues with staff. LPA could not corroborate allegation.
Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove, the alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.
Notice of Site Visit was posted. The notice of site visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post will result in civil penalties of $100. The licensee was provided a copy of their appeal right (LIC 9058 1/16) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. Exit interview was conducted.
In the area which was investigated, no deficiency was cited today.
