32 | The reporting party (RP) stated facility staff do not ensure that daycare restrooms are cleaned and sanitized in Toddler A room. Based on Staff interviews on 10/03/23, Staff #1 (S1) stated that the facility has a 3-step cleaning process in sanitizing the classrooms including restrooms, toys and beddings. The first step is to CLEAN using soap and water, second is to RINSE and wipe the area and third is to DISINFECT or SANITIZE using spray sanitizing solution called Sanibet and air dries it (a sanitizing solution that is no rinse required when used as directed as a sanitizer). S1 stated that the facility has a laminated ‘Daily/Weekly classroom cleaning schedule’ for the staff for each classroom. The staff uses dry erase markers to fill up the checklist daily and erases it at the end of the week. S1 also stated every new employee is trained and oriented on cleaning procedure. S1 confirmed that the facility does a monthly meeting about health and safety, cleaning and virtual learning. Staff #2 (S2) stated they are trained about Health and Safety and does a 3-step cleaning procedure in cleaning and sanitizing around the classroom and outside. S2 also stated that S2 has never seen the restroom in toddler A to be dirty. S2 mentioned that children use diapers in classroom A. Staff #3 (S3) stated that they are trained about Health and Safety and follows a 3-step cleaning procedure. S3 also stated that S3 has not seen the restroom in Toddler A to be dirty. S4 mentioned S4 has not seen the Toddler A restroom to be dirty. S4 also stated that the children do not use the restroom.
On 10/03/23 LPA obtained a copy of BETCO Cleaning and sanitation procedure that the facility follows.
Based on observation, the restroom in Toddler A classroom is clean and sanitary. The children who use classroom A are not potty trained, and the restroom inside the classroom is not being utilized by the children.
Based on observation, interviews conducted and record review, the complaint alleging facility staff do not ensure that daycare restrooms are cleaned and sanitized were found to be UNSUBSTANTIATED. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not enough preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with director Derek Weinmann. Appeal Rights. The facility representative was provided a copy of their appeal rights (LIC 9058) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. All appeals must be in writing and received by the Regional Office within 15 business days. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
