25 | On 02/28/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Christine Jung, conducted an unannounced case management – legal/noncompliance inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Christine Lin Rotenberry, and was led on a tour of the facility. There were 45 children and nine (9) staff members present. The facility was operating within teacher-child ratios and licensed capacity.
Facility Personnel Report Summary review indicated all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
LPA was led on a tour of Rooms 1 (A & B), 2, 3, 5, 6, and two outdoor play yards. Toddlers were observed in Rooms 1A and 1B, and preschoolers were observed in Rooms 2 and 5. Preschoolers and toddlers were observed in separate rooms, not commingling.
LPA reviewed the procedures agreed upon during the Noncompliance Conference (NCC) on 8/17/2023.
LPA reviewed nine (9) staff files to review staff qualifications. Based on record review, all lead teachers were qualified, and assistant teachers who had not yet completed their units were assisting qualified teachers. Director stated that assistant teachers do not supervise children alone at any time.
LPA observed sufficient supervision being provided by staff and verified staff to child ratios. LPA observed safety latches being used properly to prevent children from exiting. There were no children present in the preschool and toddler play yards at the time of observation. Director stated that staff check the latches when they take their classes outside for outdoor play time.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Christine Lin Rotenberry.
