LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured additional indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured at 1046.54 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 30 children. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via water pitcher and disposable cups. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on August 30, 2023.
LPAs observed a total of 3 sinks, 2 toilets, and 2 potty chair available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 30 children.
The facility has 2 playgrounds; the preschool yard is shared with the school age and the toddler option share with the infant. The facility has a current waiver in place. Fencing for both playground is at least 4 feet high. The total square footage for the preschool outdoor activity space is 3365.44 square feet; infant and toddler option outdoor activity space is 575.74 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Shade is provided via large tree in the preschool playground; the infant/toddler play area does not have a sufficient shade. The Director will install a canopy to provide shade. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children served with adequate cushioning of grass. Drinking water is available via filtered water on pitcher and disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. The Director was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
