25 | In conjunction with another inspection at the facility, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Valdez Santana and Jung conducted a case management inspection.
LPA was met by Director, Sung Ja “Annie Ahn who provided a tour of the facility. LPAs observed 2 Preschool staff caring for 17 preschool children at the time of the inspection.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
Through staff interviews Staff 3 (S3) disclosed that S2 oversees the older preschoolers and Staff #3 (S3) who has qualification as an aide oversees the young preschoolers (2yrs-2.11 yr olds). When S2 and S3 are in a room together, they split into 2 groups. S3 takes the younger children and S2 takes the older ones children. When asked if S3 is ever alone with the children, S2 stated S2 tries to oversee both groups from the door, but yes sometimes S3 was left alone supervising children alone. S3 stated S3 currently has two children under 2 years old with the young preschool. S2 disclosed, S2 does not know if the school has special permission or not but they combine the (preschool) children with the infants at the end of the day into the infant classroom.
Based on the gathered information, the facility is in violation and being cited for one Type A Limitations on Capacity CCR Section 101161(a) and Type A 101216.1(b)(1) Teacher Qualifications and Duties. Please refer to attached LIC809D for documentation of deficiency.
LPA Valdez Santana informed Director, Sung Ja “Annie Ahn, that this report dated 02/09/24 documents one Type A citations which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there are immediate risks to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.
