On 6/4/2024, LPA made an unannounced visit to the facility. During the visit, Director provided LPA with Face-to-Name Transition Sheets and Children's Roster. LPA interviewed 7 staff and 10 children.
All staff interviewed stated that to maintain ratio in their classrooms, they distribute the additional children to their neighboring classroom or call administrative staff to provide additional coverage. All staff stated that they have never supervised more children than what is allowed according to licensing regulation.
All children interviewed stated that they visit other classrooms when there are too many children in their own classroom. They stated that the director asks if they want to move rooms, and if they do not wish to move, then the director asks another child. They also stated that when teachers go home at the end of the day or are absent for the day, they go to different classrooms. They added that when there is only one teacher present, there is a small number of children in the class.
During the course of the complaint investigation, LPA visited the facility on two separate dates: 5/20/24 and 6/4/24. During both visits, LPA observed that the facility was operating within ratio. Record reviews also revealed that the facility was operating within its licensed capacity and maintaining staff to child ratio in each classroom.
The Orange County Regional Child Care Licensing Office has investigated the complaint alleging facility was operating out of ratio: although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there was not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
No deficiencies cited.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Kari Kimbrough. |
