The Orange County Childcare Office received a complaint on 5/13/2026, with one allegation (1) Staff are not properly supervising daycare children.
During the investigation LPA interviewed six staff, interviewed three parents, and made observations.
Reporting Party (RP) alleges staff are not properly supervising daycare children. RP mentioned, in the past month, RP has witnessed children in the shared, preschool restroom unattended. RP mentioned there are two teachers in the preschool classroom and RP has witnessed the teachers talking with each other as well as one teacher checking her phone. During the visit on 5/15/2026, LPA interviewed six staff. All staff stated they do not let children use the restroom unattended. Staff stated when children use the restroom, staff stand by the door so they can observe other children inside the classroom. Staff also mentioned, if children need assistance, staff will call for another staff to step in.
During the inspection on 5/15/2026, LPA observed staff positioned outside the restroom door while children were using the restroom. Staff maintained supervision by remaining within close proximity to the restroom entrance and were available to assist children as needed.
On 5/26/2026, LPA conducted parent interviews as part of the investigation. LPA attempted to contact 10 parents via telephone. Of the 10 parents contacted, three parents were available and agreed to participate in interviews.
The parents interviewed did not provide any information related to or supportive of the allegation.
Children were not interviewed during the course of the investigation. Based on the nature of the allegation and the information obtained through staff interviews, parent interviews, and facility observations. Child interviews were not deemed necessary to gather additional relevant information.
