Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ketki Desai conducted an unannounced Case Management (other) inspection for a follow up to measure the new Infant and Toddler yard. LPA met with Administrator Ms. Betonte, Nina who gave the tour of the classrooms and the two yards for the Infant component.

On the former visit, conducted on 10/15/21, Infant yard needed changes to the outer surface making it safe for infants to be present in the yard.

On today’s inspection, LPA observed the outer surface on the Infant yard has been modified with the installation of artificial grass and square grey mats covering the open hard ground areas. The yard is completely fenced, and shade is provided by a natural tree, green awing sail and patio is also fully covered , with all three items, it provides sufficient shade to the infant yard.

On today’s inspection, the new Infant yard, located in front of the Infant classroom # 5 was measured, with following measurements

Total outdoor space = 1063’26 Sq. ft divided by 75= 14’18 (14 infants)

The facility has enough outdoor space to accommodate 14 infants in the new yard located outside Room # 5.

On today’s inspection Toddler yard was also remeasured, both the components now shall use their assigned yards.

Toddler yard measurements:

Total outdoor space: 1385 Sq. ft divided by 75 = 18’48 (18 children)

The Toddler yard is fenced with proper shade, it has wooden chips / artificial grass on the outer surface, age appropriate play structures are arranged with small tables & benches under the patio covered area for table-top activities. There is natural shade as well as awing over the yard to provide the needed shade.

Based on today’s outdoor measurements on the Infant yard, can accommodate 14 Infants and Toddler yard can accommodate 17 Toddlers. Total capacity : 31 children

Fire clearance from City of Orange office has been received on 10/14/21 and approved for the use of the new Infant yard located in front of Room # 5 assigned Infant room.

Wavier issued on August 5^th, 2021 for staggered schedule is now being terminated as each component has their individual yards.

A new License shall be issued to reflect the changes in the comments.

Appeal Rights presented and Exit interview conducted.

Notice of Site Visit was posted. Director was informed that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post it will result in civil penalties of $100.
