25 | On 3/17/25 at 8:45am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), D. Valdez Santana and A. Nunez arrived at the facility to conduct a case management inspection for the purpose of inspecting a temporary outdoor activity space when the current outdoor activity space is under construction from March 31, 2025, to June 1, 2025. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Lead Teacher, Sandra Vasquez and were led on a tour the facility. There were 16 children and 3 staff members present. The hours of operation are AM session is from 8am-11am and the PM session is from 12pm-3pm. The facility serves 24 preschool children ages 3-5 years old. The facility is requesting to update their hours from 7:30am-4:00pm and update their ages from 2.9-5 years old.
The facility is requesting to utilize a temporary outdoor activity space “Grass and Tree Area” that is approximately 13 ft. from Classroom K-2, from March 31, 2025, to June 1, 2025. The “Grass and Tree Area” does not have any climbing equipment or structures. Staff will bring out age-appropriate toys for outdoor use. The surface of the outdoor activity space was observed to be free of hazards. Shaded rest areas are provided by trees and benches are shaded by building. LPAs discussed proper supervision and placement of staff during outdoor activities to ensure the safety of children at all times. Facility utilizes boys’ and girls’ restrooms located in classroom K-2. Children shall be escorted and supervised to and from the restrooms by facility staff. Water for children is provided via their own water bottles and drinking fountains. LPAs measured the outdoor activity space which is sufficient to accommodate the current capacity of 24 preschool children.
Licensee representative stated they understand that, upon completion of construction/refresh of the current outdoor activity space, they must obtain approval from the licensing Department prior to children’s use. Facility has met the requirements for an approved alternate space, and the facility may utilize the temporary outdoor activity space.
No deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted with Lead Teacher, Sandra Vasquez. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
