Regarding "Staff do not provide adequate supervision to day care children"
Staff reported adherence to the required staff-to-child ratio of 1:8 for preschool children both in the classroom and on the playground. Staff stated they maintain supervision by positioning themselves at different stations to monitor children effectively. Children confirmed that teachers actively supervise them while on the playground.
Regarding "Staff engaged in a verbal altercation between each other in the presence of day care children".
Staff #1 denied any verbal altercation occurring in front of children and stated no children were involved or affected. Staff #1 acknowledged emotional tension but indicated the matter was resolved privately. Staff #2 confirmed a verbal altercation did occur in front of children but did not provide further details. Staff #3 and other staff members reported no knowledge or observation of any such incident in front of children. Children interviewed did not report anything to show any verbal altercations among staff. The LPA reviewed Child # 1’s attendance sheet and did not observe any days being out followed up the reported incident of 3/28/2025. By reviewing the documents, C1 in question on the report was not present on the specific date and time of the reported incident.
Based on interviews with 11 staff members, 7 preschool children including Child # 1, and contact with 10 parents (one respondent with no related concerns), as well as a review of relevant documentation, inconsistent statements and a lack of corroborating evidence. The Reporting Party and staff # 2 did not provide additional follow up information or evidence to support the allegations, there is not enough proof or evidence to support the above allegations occurred or did not occur.
This agency has investigated the complaint alleging “Staff handled day care child in an inappropriate manner”, “Staff spoke to day care child in an inappropriate manner”, “Staff do not provide adequate supervision to day care children”, and “Staff engaged in a verbal altercation between each other in the presence of day care children”.; although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove, the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
