Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ruth Martinez made an unannounced visit to conduct the required 10 day visit to begin the investigation into the allegation listed above. LPA met with Maria Rossi, Executive Director, and explained the reason for the visit.

Based on the information obtained during this investigation the department has concluded the investigation into the above mentioned allegation. Findings are based upon this investigation which included interviews conducted, tour of the physical plant of the facility and copies of pertinent documents obtained. It is alleged that the facility is not providing basic services to residents. Interview with 7 of 7 residents indicated that facility staff is providing housekeeping to them. Residents indicated that the trash in their apartments are being taken out and if they have additional trash compiled after staff takes out trash that they take their trash

to a centralized trash location. Residents indicated that if they need food delivered to their apartment that it is being provided them. Records review revealed that on the admissions agreement page 7 states section B states weekly laundry services are available for linens and towels. Personal laundry is available for an additional charge. Admissions agreement page 7 section C Housekeeping weekly housekeeping services in your apartment and daily trash removal may be added for an additional charge. You agree to keep your apartment in a clean and sanitary condition. If you fail to do so, you understand that we may provide additional housekeeping services to your apartment, and you shall agree to pay for such service, as we deem necessary. Admissions agreement page 8 section E2 states, tray service we will provide tray service to your apartment during a temporary illness, at no extra charge for up to 3 days. During other times, we will provide optional tray services to you at your request for an additional charge as set by the community. Appendix A outlines the fees for tray service and housekeeping. December 20, 2023, residents were given a notice about updated fees in the laundry services and an update to the services provided by housekeeping to be taken affect on March 1, 2024. House keeping notices for staff outlines the following: timing/schedules, laundry, and trash services. Housekeeping schedule reveals the schedule for housekeeping being provided to resident’s apartments.

Based on the information gathered during the investigation, review of all documents obtained, the Department is unable to ascertain if the allegation occurred as reported. Although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove or refute the alleged violation occurred; therefore, this allegation is deemed Unsubstantiated.

An exit interview was conducted with Executive Director, and a copy of this LIC9099 report was left at facility.
