Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patricia Velazquez conducted an unannounced visit to Pacifica Senior Living South Coast. The purpose of today's visit was to conduct a Required 1 Year inspection focusing on Infection Control. LPA Velazquez was allowed entry into the facility and met with Executive Director (ED) Stacie Anderson. The facility is licensed for 98 non-ambulatory residents of which 20 residents may be bedridden. The facility also has a hospice waiver for 20 residents. LPA was provided with a copy of last year's Fire inspection which was conducted on April 13, 2021. ED Anderson informed LPA Velazquez that a Fire inspection was conducted on March 23, 2022. LPA was also provided with a copy of the most recent liability insurance. The last emergency disaster drill was conducted on February 25, 2022.

At 9:16 AM LPA Velazquez conducted a tour of the physical plant along with ED Anderson. The facility consists of 2 stories with 55 resident rooms each with their own or shared bathrooms. There are 3 activity rooms, a movie theater, 2 dining rooms, kitchen, a hair salon, memory care area, a library/game room, 3 courtyards, and a lobby area. LPA Velazquez did not observe the Complaint poster in the facility which ED Anderson verified. Resident bath towels and personal hygiene supplies were adequately stocked. Resident bathrooms were checked. Toilets and water faucets worked properly, grab bars were secure, showers were free of mold/mildew and a non-skid surface was in place.
