25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Jerome Haley and Joseph Alejandre conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting a required one year infection control annual visit. LPAs were greeted, granted entry by staff after our temperatures were checked. LPAs explained the reason for todays visit. Administrator (AD) Claudia Olteanu was called and arrived at the facility for the visit. LPAs observed all required postings on the wall throughout the facility. AD Olteanu has an administrators certificate that expired on 06/13/2022. AD Olteanu provided verification that all documents have been submitted for certificate renewal. LPAs observed a screening log book, and temperature thermometer for screening clients and visitors. At 10:00 am LPAs toured the facility with AD Claudia Olteanu. There were four residents in care at the facility. Three residents were observed in the living room enjoying music. LPAs began the tour with AD Olteanu checking client rooms and bathrooms. Client rooms have the necessary requirements, night stand, chair, lamp and storage space. Bathrooms were operational and clean. In Bathroom #1 LPA measured the water temperature at 112.2 degrees Fahrenheit, and in bathroom #2: 116.4 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility had a two day supply of perishable food items and seven days supply of nonperishable food items. There was a first aid kit equipped with all required items in the locked medication cabinet in the kitchen. The stove was clean and all four burners were operational. Knives and sharp objects were locked in a drawer in the kitchen. All hazardous chemical were kept locked and out of the reach of residents. The facility has adequate PPE supply of gloves, surgical mask, and hand sanitizers. LPA observed extra linen, emergency food and water supply. LPA toured the backyard and observed both side exit gates of the house were self closing and self latching. LPA observed a visitation area equipped with tables and chairs for the residents in care. At 10:30 while touring the back yard with AD Olteanu, LPA observed some loose cement tiles stacked in the corner. LPAs advised AD the importance of keeping the backyard free of clutter. AD stated that the cement tiles will be removed today. There were no bodies of water observed. All smoke detectors were tested and are operational. LPAs also toured the staff house in the back and there was no staff present at the moment. The hose was clean and free of clutter. No deficiencies were observed during the visit. An exit interview conducted and a copy of the report was provided to the Administrator Claudia Olteanu. |
