25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeremey McClain met with facility representative Andreana Thornsberry for an unannounced Case Management Inspection regarding an Unusual Incident Report.
Upon arrival, LPA observed 24 infants, supervised by six staff members in three rooms.
On 12/18/2023 it was reported that on 12/14/2023 a child was involved in an accident in care that required medical attention at a hospital. It was reported that Child #1 hit their on a brick column outside of the toddler room fainted moments. Initially staff thought the child suffered a seizure. However, the child was diagnosed with a concussion, and it was determined that the child had fainted, not seized. During today’s inspection LPA spoke with Staff 1, Staff 2, and Staff 3 regarding the incident. LPA also observed the area where the accident occurred. LPA previously spoke with Child #1’s parent before today’s inspection. All interviews were consistent with was what reported.
LPA determined that the incident was not due to a lack of supervision, nor were there any Title 22 deficiencies related to the incident. LPA discussed reporting requirements with the licensing representative.
This report was reviewed with the licensing representative Andreana Thornsberry. LPA provided a Notice of Site Visit, which must remain posted for 30 days. |
