13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeremey McClain met with facility representative Andreana Thornsberry to deliver findings for a complaint investigation. LPA observed 46 preschool children supervised by five teachers. It was alleged that the facility restrained a child in low chair for three hours a day during meals throughout the day.
The facility utilized a low chair during feeding times when dairy was served, due to the severity of the child’s allergic reaction. The child was placed in the chair during meals to prevent exposure to dairy.
During the investigation, LPA conducted interviews staff and made observations during breakfast and lunch meals. The evidence gathered does not support the allegation that the child is placed in the low chair for a total of three hours a day. The preponderance of evidence standard has not been met; therefore, the allegation is determined to be unsubstantiated. The allegation can neither be confirmed nor dismissed.
The investigation will not result in any Title 22 deficiencies. LPA reviewed this report with facility representative Andreana Thornsberry. and provided a Notice of Site Visit that must be posted for 30 days.
