25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeremey McClain met with licensee Valquiria Medvecki for the purpose of a Case Management inspection. The purpose of today’s inspection was to ensure compliance with AB 2866 additions to Health and Safety Code (HSC) 1596.814.
Eight children were observed during today’s inspection. Licensee’s assistant was present.
Today LPA observed the following:
1. A life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard.
2. A rescue pole with a body hook and minimum fixed length of 12 feet.
3. An ASTM International Standard F2208 pool alarm that sounds upon entrance into the pool. The alarm was tested for functionality during today’s inspection.
4. An mesh fence that meets the following requirements: (1) isolates the swimming pool from access to the home; (2) is a minimum height of 60 inches; (3) has a maximum vertical clearance of two inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure; (4) has no gaps that can allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter of 4 or more inches; (5) has no protrusions, cavities or other physical characteristics that could serve as handholds or footholds for a child to climb over; and (6) the access gate must swing away from the pool and be self-closing with a self-latching, key lockable device placed no lower than 60 inches above the ground.
Licensee is aware that she must conduct and document daily inspections for pool safety.
