Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Blesi met with Licensee Aman Purewal for a case management inspection to increase the capacity on the infant license. License requests a capacity increase from 40 to 52 infants and toddlers. There will be 16 infants age 6 wks and above and and 36 toddlers under the toddler option, ages 18-36 months.

LPA discussed the forms that must be in each child's and each staff member's file including written permission from the child's authorized representative to enter and exit the toddler option program. Licensee understands there must be a ratio of 6 toddlers to every 1 staff and staff must have infant units.

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
The facility has four infant classrooms, named infant room, Toddler #1, Toddler #2 and Toddler #3. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and cots for toddlers. LPAs observed a changing table that is within arm's reach of a sink. There are 16 floor beds for the infants under 12 months with an approved waiver on file. There are 4 evacuation cribs. Licensee states there are 36 cots for the toddlers. There are 8 toilets, six potty chairs and 10 sinks. Licensee understands there shall be one potty chair to every five infants being toilet trained. Medications are stored in the office. Cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Applicant stated a water jug and individual cups will be available in both classrooms. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and a electronic sign-in/sign-out system. LPA used the previous measurements taken during the prelicensing inspection on 4/16/2020. The four classrooms contain a total of 3160.87 square feet, which will accommodate 90 children. Report continues on 809-C.

Infant room = 652.87 square feet
Toddler room #1 = 769 square feet
Toddler room #2 = 865 square feet
Toddler room #3 = 874 square feet (formerly a preschool room)

Licensee would like to request a waiver to have toddlers use Toddler Room #3 in the morning from 7am - 12:30 pm and have the preschool children use the room in the afternoon from 12:30 - 6pm. The waiver will be reviewd by LPM Peters and licensee must have approval before use by preschool children.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
Infant Toddler outdoor space was previously measured during the pre licensing inspection on 4/16/2020. This outdoor space is separated from the preschool yard with a fenced gate. LIcensee has a waiver on file to share the playground and she acknowledges the children of different age groups may not use the space at the same time. The playground will accommodate a total of 34 children at a time (waiver on file). LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys and licensee has ordered additional climbing equipment. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There is shade supplied by an overhang and trees.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee Aman Purewal of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

An approved fire clearance was received 1/13/2022 for infant capacity of 52. Per today's inspection the facility is approved for an increase in capacity of 52 infants and toddlers. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Aman Purewal.
