13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Blesi met with Director Aman Purewal to open and close the above complaint. There were 18 preschool children in care supervised by three staff.
It was alleged that the facility had a communicable disease outbreak (Norovirus). After interviewing staff, LPA learned the facility recently has had one confirmed case of Norovirus in the infant room and have had to send multiple children home due to diarrhea. LPA toured the facility for a health and safety evaluation and discussed general sanitation requirements with staff and director. The facility follows Title 22 regulations by using a bleach solution and/or Purell disinfectant to sanitize floors and commonly touched surfaces daily and more often as needed. Staff report they wash their hands frequently before and after diapering a child, before and after a feeding and before and after going outside. It could not be determined why there was a case of Norovirus in the facility. Based on the evidence obtained, LPA determined that the allegation is unsubstantiated, meaning there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove it. Exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was given to Aman Purewal. Notice of Site was provided which must remain posted for 30 days.
No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. |
