On July 9, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lea Habtom and Tanya Washington made an unannounced inspection to the facility. The purpose of today’s inspection is to close a complaint investigation. LPAs met with designated staff, Erica Ouji. There were 31 preschool aged children being supervised by three teachers. All staff present today have fingerprint clearances and associations.

During the investigation, LPA conducted interviews and observation regarding the allegations of facility is operating out of ratio and staff are commingling school-age and preschool children. LPA Habtom toured the facility, conducted observation, and interviewed those pertinent to the investigation. From staff and reporting party interviews, LPA Habtom was unable to gather enough further information to validate the allegation that the facility is operating out of ratio and staff are commingling school-age and preschool children is to be unsubstantiated. Although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the allegations did or did not occur.

During the investigation, LPA Habtom toured the facility, conducted observation, and interviewed those pertinent to the investigation. It was alleged that the facility does not keep the play area in good repair. The reporting party’s interview indicated that there are a few bikes with broken seats and peddles. LPAs observation confirmed that a few bike seats were cracked and peddles missing leaving the metal exposed. Based on the information gathered, the allegation the facility does not keep the play area in good repair is to be SUBSTANTIATED: meaning that the allegation is valid because the preponderance of the evidence standard has been met.
